"I'm an atheist. Why should I become a Sciencist?" Science has revealed some pretty undeniable facts about religion.
- Being religious has some benefits for the individual
- Community and fellowship
- Offers simple answers when the individual isn't interested in complex answers
- Sense of duty, mission, goals, purpose
- Comfort, hope
- More happiness (1,2)
- Easier to come into contact with more people of like mind
- Rituals (3)
- compliance with obligations or ideals
- satisfaction of spiritual or emotional needs of the practitioners
- strengthening of social bonds
- social and moral education
- demonstration of respect or submission
- stating one's affiliation
- obtaining social acceptance or approval for some event
- just for the pleasure of the ritual itself
- Mystery, mythology, stories, etc
- More motivation for the individual to do things which are considered "good" and avoid things which are considered "bad"
- Explains spirituality and spiritual feelings
- Prayer can lower blood pressure (4)
- Religions bring some benefits to society
- Charitable works
- Art
- Community-building
- Community buildings to support various events
- People who are qualified to make decisions influence the majority who are not qualified to make those decisions
- Teaches people how to behave towards others
- Granted, there are many aspects of religions that are bad, but Sciencism doesn't have any of those. If any aspects of Sciencism turn out to be bad in the future (through revelations from Science), they will be removed from Sciencism.

- Sciencists are better educated in Science
- Sciencism will not attempt to affect the scientific process (other religions do try to affect scientific processes); only Science is allowed to affect Sciencism
