[edit] The testimony of Scimon

This is an account of the events surrounding NSD (Scimon) leading up to the birth of Sciencism.

I first set foot in Australia in April 2007 (exact date), intending to stay for two weeks and evaluate the suitability of moving to and permanently living in australia. My itinerary was as follows:

Overall, my experience in australia was positive... it was certainly better than Dubai! Roughly 3 months later with IDP's help, I burned my bridges and left Dubai permanently to study in (and eventually migrate to) Australia.

I landed at Canberra Airport on July 11 (exact date to be confirmed). I was picked up at the airport & dropped off at YHA in Civic. 2-3 days later, I was a new resident at University of Canberra's University village (UV4-178). I spent one lonely semester there, my only friend being Tamalii who lived nearby. After having had enough, I begged the management to transfer me to another block, and eventually got my wish. I was transferred to UV5-204. I met a guy named Michael who happened to be a member of FOCUS (the christian group at Uni). I soon got very much involved with Focus for about a year.

It started off with me attending meetings and discussing and debating with them. Over time i started to enjoy their company and went on trips with them. First there was a weekend away at Tuross Heads called "Getaway"... I really enjoyed that one. Then there was Focal Point. The name "Focal Point" is so appropriate, as it was a turning point for me. That is where I gained enlightenment. It was during one of the sermons... It was probably Pastor Dave who was delivering the sermon. It suddenly hit me as i was sitting there next to Kylie. I secretly wrote one word in my handout. "Sciencism".
