Capital sins
A "sin" is an action or thought that goes against the teachings of Science. Performing these actions or thinking sinful thoughts places one's soul at risk of eternal damnation. Capital sins are those which are the most serious and leads inevitably to committing other sins.
Generally it can be seen that the Capital Sins are like an "evil twin" or a corrupted version of something that is good.
[edit] Entitlement
Entitlement is the evil twin of Rights. Every living thing has a right to be left alone and in peace.
[edit] Projection
Projection is the evil twin of Empathy. When we can imagine what another person is feeling by putting ourselves in their situation, that is called Empathy. Projection occurs when empathy is taken one step too far. When you prefer to trust your opinion of what someone else is feeling or thinking over their own stated experiences of what they are thinking or feeling, one commits the sin of Projection.
[edit] Fear of death
Every living thing has an instinct for self-preservation. In fact it is one of the most basic instincts. Without it, life as we know it would never have evolved. In any life system, those organisms that have the instinct of self-preservation will survive better than those that don't. Of course, there are differences when one considers the details. In single-celled organisms, the statement above holds. When we get to the multi-cellular level, those organisms which sacrifice a part of themselves for the greater good survive better than those that don't sacrifice. Fear of death occurs when the instinct of self-preservation is taken one step too far.
The above sins mix and combine in various ways to produce a myriad of combinations and permutations of evil that plagues society.
