There were two ships. One was sound, and one was leaking. Experts calculated that the leaking ship would sink in 24 hours, if left to itself. The people on the leaking ship were advised to come on board the good ship. Many made it to safety. But some said: Let us try and keep the ship afloat. Each one of us can help keep the ship afloat for a time. The more of us there are, the longer we can keep our ship afloat. They managed to keep the ship afloat for another 24 hours. Then the ship sank and those onboard drowned.
