Given the age of reason is in its infancy, old folk are slowly accepting change more so in whatever it is concerned. So: Age of Reason * Fast Change (Revolutions in so many industries) = Strong dissimilarities between young and old. One would think this will even out over time, we are just in a more changing sort of era than many of the eras gone by.
